The Cincinnati Reds were nine outs from earning a series victory against the Milwaukee Brewers when a couple of two-strike hits haunted reliever Tejay Antone and zapped the Reds' opportunity to distance themselves in a tight playoff race.
With Antone holding onto a one-run lead in the seventh inning, Daniel Vogelback hit an opposite-field single to left field after falling behind in a no-ball, two-strike count. Jedd Gyorko, the next batter, survived his own no-ball, two-strike count when he barreled a 96-mph fastball into the left-center gap for a double.
Antone, who has impressed all year, was given the chance to survive the jam, but Orlando Arcia hit a game-tying sacrifice fly to center.
