The 2022 Cincinnati Reds came close to setting yet another record for the 141-year-old franchise. It wouldn't have been the kind of record that fans or the front office would like to tout.

The Reds lost 100 games in a season for the second time in their history but the current team left the 1982 Reds as the franchise's worst in total losses at 101. The Reds had a shot at the dubious record of losing 102 games but pulled out two of their last three games against Chicago after being swept last weekend by the Cubs in Wrigley Field.
