The Reds have lost 90 games in 2022. How does this bad season compare to others?

The Cincinnati Reds are not alone in suffering through the 2022 season. So far, four other teams have already met or passed this key measure of a dismal campaign: the Detroit Tigers, the Oakland Athletics, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Washington Nationals.

But our home team in recent years has been racking up 90-loss seasons at a much faster pace than at any other time in the Reds' 141-year history. The team now has had 19 seasons where it lost 90 or more games. But five of those seasons u2012 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and now 2022 u2012 have been in the last decade.
