The non-tender deadline means it's decision time for the Cincinnati Reds on a few players

After the Reds and the rest of the league protected prospects from the Rule 5 Draft last month, the next roster deadline arrives Monday night. Teams will decide whether to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players for the upcoming season.

The Reds made an early decision on Derek Dietrich when they removed him from the 40-man roster in early November. Dietrich, who was projected to command a $3.1 million salary for the 2020 season, was sent to the minor leagues and elected free agency.

Nearing Monday’s deadline, the Reds are expected to have seven arbitration-eligible players: Trevor Bauer, Kevin Gausman, Anthony DeSclafani, Michael Lorenzen, José Peraza, Curt Casali and Matt Bowman.
