'That's who we have right now': Reds GM Nick Krall 'believes' in the team's shortstops

Last season, the Cincinnati Reds postseason ended with a two-game series where the club’s shortstops went 1-for-9 at the plate. Since then, the Reds haven’t added anyone with a track record of recent success at that position.

And general manager Nick Krall said they might not before the season starts.

“I think Kyle Farmer was a solid shortstop, he did a good job, especially hitting left-handed pitching last year,” Krall said Monday. “Kyle Holder's a guy, left-handed hitter, plays good defense. I think we're going to do what we can there with that group. That's who we have, and they're going to compete for that spot.
