Supreme Court sports gambling decision gets people Tweeting about Pete Rose

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act - paving the way for legalized sports gambling nationwide - and people started Tweeting about Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer and Hit King Pete Rose, of course.

Pete became a trending topic on Twitter after the decision Monday morning, with some speculating that it might affect his status and/or eligibility for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Yes, really.

Rose's estranged wife, Carol, insisted the former Big Red Machine great remains a "high stakes gambler" who has significant debts with casinos and the IRS and fails to pay support on time, according to documents reported Monday by TMZ and reviewed by USA TODAY Sports.
