Third baseman Eugenio Suarez has returned to the Reds' lineup.
Cincinnati reinstated Suarez from the 10-day disabled list and selected the contract of utility man Rosell Herrera from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Outfielder Phillip Ervin and infielder Cliff Pennington were optioned to Louisville in corresponding moves.
Suarez, fully recovered from a right thumb fracture, was batting .296/.424/.630 with two home runs and seven RBIs in eight games before sustaining the injury. He was in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Braves, batting fifth. Suarez will be a big addition to the Reds' batting order after having a career year in 2017, when he hit .
