PITTSBURGH -- The Reds came into Saturday with one win and in desperate need of an offensive boost. Eugenio Suarez took care of that in his final two at-bats against the Pirates.
During his 3-for-4 night with a walk, Suarez matched a career high with a five-RBI game. His bases-loaded single in the sixth against reliever Dovydas Neverauskas scored two runs and made it a 4-4 game. In the eighth inning against George Kontos, Suarez hit an 0-1 pitch for a three-run home run to left field and the lead.
The Reds were trailing by a 4-0 score through two innings before slowly chipping away.
