After a 2017 season lost almost entirely to injury and a 2018 season lost almost entirely to...something awful, Brandon Finnegan surely came to Goodyear, and Cincinnati Reds camp, with something to prove this spring. Hell, his roster spot pretty well depends on it. So, to see that in his first inning of work he allowed 3 hits, a walk, a dinger, and a pair of runs earned isn’t exactly promising, but at least there’s plenty of spring left to still sort that out.
Finnegan will get the start for the Reds today against the San Francisco Giants in Goodyear, this time hoping that he can put a few batters away like he did in his rather solid 2016 season as a key cog in a young Reds rotation.
