GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Sonny Gray was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday in the Reds spring opener with right elbow stiffness.
Tanner Roark will start instead.
Gray, the 29-year-old right-hander, came to the Reds in a Jan. 21 trade with the New York Yankees. The Reds signed him to a three-year, 30.5 million contract to facilitate the trade.
Gray does not think this is a significant setback.
