SURPRISE, Ariz. – Right-hander Sonny Gray has by far his roughest outing of the spring in 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals Saturday.
He was scheduled to go four innings, but he only made it through 2 1/3. He gave three runs on five hits. He struck out two and walked one.
Gray had gone 4 2/3 innings and allowed a total of one run in his first outings.
"Sonny looked fine," Reds manager David Bell said. "He got a little tired at the end. He reached his pitch count, so he wasn't able to go four innings.
