Luis Castillo jumped up and down on top of the mound as he watched New York Mets shortstop Amed Rosario hit a ball over his head into shallow center field.
Castillo’s bid for a perfect game was over with two outs in the fifth inning.
But the Reds didn’t need perfection from the young right-hander. All they needed was a solid start from Castillo to end a three-game losing streak in a 7-2 win at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday.
