There isn’t anything in preseason camp that truly feels like a normal spring training:
Players are spread out in the clubhouse and don’t eat together. There are no fans during scrimmages. Catchers aren’t allowed to throw the ball around the infield after a strikeout. Almost 40% of the team trains a half-hour away at Prasco Park in Mason.
But 10 days after beginning their three-week camp, Cincinnati Reds players have been pleasantly surprised about how everything has worked with the sport’s health and safety protocols.
“It's not normal – it's more like getting used to it,” Reds pitcher Pedro Strop said.
