Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani, the odds-on favorite to win the 2023 American League MVP award, left the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cincinnati Reds during the top of the 2nd inning with an athletic trainer.
Ohtani struck out two and walked one in 1 1/3 innings. He threw 26 pitches.
The Angels announced via Twitter that Ohtani was removed from the game with arm fatigue.
"That's too bad," Bally Sports Ohio analyst Chris Welsh said during the broadcast. "I didn't see anything, although they probably were aware of something going on.
