ATLANTA – When Lucas Sims emerged out of the left-field bullpen during Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Braves, the stadium’s lights turned off during the beginning of the pitching change. Fans lit up their cell phones and conducted their chop chant.
Sims grinned and laughed to himself. A former Braves pitcher, he’s seen it happen. This was his first time on the other side of it.
Entering with two runners in scoring position in the fifth inning, Sims ended the inning by striking out Ender Inciarte on a called third strike.
