ATLANTA – One of the main questions facing the Cincinnati Reds entering the season was the state of its bullpen.
The Reds had one of the league’s worst bullpens for the first half of the 2021 season, and then they lost co-closers Michael Lorenzen and Mychal Givens to free agency over the winter. The Reds added Hunter Strickland on a one-year contract and Buck Farmer was one of the prominent non-roster signings, but there was little proven experience for the back of the bullpen.
