NEW YORK – Nobody questions Scott Schebler’s work ethic as he tries to break out of a season-long slump. He’s done extra work with hitting coaches Turner Ward and Donnie Ecker. He’s shown up for early batting practice before games.

Schebler said the coaching staff’s message is to keep moving forward. He can’t dwell on his struggles. But he admits the game has humbled him. He tries to stay positive, but it feels like a gut punch when the results don’t show up.
