It's pretty remarkable: Of Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett's 70 career big-league home runs, six are grand slams.
Gennett hit four grand slams in 2017, including one in his four-homer game against the St. Louis Cardinals last June. So now five of his six career grand slams have come in the 686 plate appearances he's made since the Reds selected him off waivers in March of last year.
Gennett has more career grand slams than the following Hall of Famers (per baseball-almanac.com - and these are just a few of them):
Frank Thomas: 521 HR, 4 GS
Duke Snider: 407 HR, 5 GS
Al Kaline: 399 HR, 4 GS
Carlton Fisk: 376 HR, 5 GS
George Brett: 317 HR, 2 GS
Rickey Henderson: 297, 3 GS
Craig Biggio: 291 HR, 4 GS
Ryne Sandberg: 282 HR, 5 GS
Joe Morgan: 268 HR, 4 GS
Future Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera has hit 465 career homers, but just four grand slams.
