Former Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton was traded Sunday from the San Francisco Giants to the New York Mets for right-handed pitcher Jordan Humphreys.
Hamilton did not appear in a regular-season game for the Giants. He signed a minor-league deal with the team earlier this year.
The 2009 second-round pick of the Reds who played for the team from 2013 to 2018 has never played against Cincinnati. The Reds granted him free agency in November of 2018.
Hamilton hit .211 with an OPS of .544 in 305 plate appearances for the Royals in 2019 and had 18 stolen bases in 23 attempts.
