CINCINNATI -- Right-hander Keyvius Sampson made his Major League debut on Thursday in one inning of relief work, and he'll make his first career start on Sunday.
Reds manager Bryan Price announced Sampson will get the nod as the Reds' starter in Sunday's four-game series finale against the Pirates. Mike Leake was originally scheduled to make the start, but he was traded to the Giants in the early hours of Friday, leaving Price with a hole in his rotation.
Sampson struck out two in one scoreless inning on Thursday against the Pirates, and Price considered the short outing similar to a bullpen session.
