SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Cincinnati Reds right-hander Rookie Davis had a promising spring training start cut short Sunday after he rolled his right ankle covering first on a groundout. He doesn’t expect to miss his next outing, however.
“I’ll feel fine. It’s going to be stiff today, and maybe a little bit tomorrow,” Davis said. “I’ll get my work in. I’ll be good to go.”
Davis had given up only one hit in his first three innings, and got a soft grounder to first from Alexi Amarista to start the fourth. He rushed to cover the bag, and dropped the ball as his right foot probed for the base.
