Veteran free-agent relief pitcher Joakim Soria is finalizing a deal with the Oakland Athletics, according to a report via Twitter from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
The Cincinnati Reds were among five Major League Baseball teams interested in Soria, according to a report earlier this month via Twitter from MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez.
The 34-year-old Soria last pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers, which traded a pair of minor-leaguers to the Chicago White Sox for him in July but granted him free agency at the end of the 2018 season.
Soria was 3-1 with a 4.
