With the MLB trade deadline approaching, the Cincinnati Reds may consider parting ways with a star.
According to a report from MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Reds have informed teams they are willing to trade second baseman Jonathan India before the Aug. 1 deadline. Feinsand wrote Cincinnati is reportedly looking for "young, controllable starting pitching" in return.
Despite India winning the 2021 National League Rookie of the Year award, the Reds have significant infield depth, with Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Spencer Steer finding success as rookies this season.
