It probably wasn’t a job requirement, but the fact manager David Bell is going to live in Cincinnati year-round is a fairly big deal.
He’s the first manager since Pete Rose to do.
But there’s more to it than that. Bell has an office in the front office — right in the thick of the top decision-makers.
“One of the reasons I think he’ll be effective here is his commitment to living here year-round,” Reds president of baseball operations Dick Williams said.
