GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Cincinnati Reds shortstop Jose Barrero is expected to miss the start of the 2022 season because of a hamate injury in his left hand.
Barrero didn’t participate in workouts Saturday and Sunday, and he had yet to appear in a spring training game because of the injury. Manager David Bell said Barrero will receive a second opinion for the injury Monday.
