The Cincinnati Reds series finale against the Chicago Cubs was postponed on Wednesday. Following a rain delay that lasted nearly two hours, the game was called.
Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene was scheduled to appear in the final game of the season-opening homestand. The Reds now travel to Philadelphia to face the Phillies.
Wednesday’s game will be rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Friday, Sept. 1.

Roster moves
Before the game, the Reds called up right-handed pitcher Kevin Herget from Triple-A, optioned reliever Joel Kuhnel to Triple-A and designated left-handed reliever Bennett Sousa for assignment.
