It had been an exciting weekend for many Reds fans……..at least until the Reds took the field. The Reds took the field on Sunday during Pete Rose weekend trying to avoid being swept. The Reds needed a big start from Anthony DeSclafani to avoid a four-game sweep to the Padres. They got just that.
DeSclafani dominated the Padres over eight innings. He didn’t allow a run, and limited the Padres to five hits. He struck out five without walking a batter.
Jose Peraza jump started the Reds offense in the second inning.
