TORONTO — Blue Jays hitters continued their Home Run Derby practice against Reds pitchers, hitting two home runs in the 5-4 victory over the Reds to sweep the three-game series at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays hit nine home runs in the three-game series.
Here are the main storylines from Wednesday’s game:
• Throwback Wednesday: For a change, the Reds turned back the clock to 2016 and had a solid start ruined by the bullpen.
After Tim Adleman gave the Reds just their third quality start in the last 16 games, usually reliable left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta gave up a walk a home run in the seventh inning to give the Blue Jays a 5-3 lead.
