Reds recall Stephenson for start tonight

Right-hander Robert Stephenson has been recalled by the Reds and will pitch Tuesday night against the Rockies in place of Alfredo Simon, who has right biceps tendinitis.

Stephenson, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLBPipeline.com, allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings on April 7 against the Phillies in his Major League debut. The right-hander made one start for Triple-A Louisville this season, allowing two runs (one earned) in six innings.

Simon is expected to make his next start.

A corresponding move will be made before Tuesday's game to open up a spot on the active roster for Stephenson.
