With two different 2-run home runs in the first inning for the Reds, the game was never in doubt. The Cincinnati offense would explode for 14 runs in a blowout win over the Brewers.
The Offense
Eugenio Suarez and Jesse Winker both smacked 2-run homers in the 1st inning, giving Cincinnati a 4-0 lead. That is where the score held until the top of the 5th. That’s when the Reds put together a rally with RBI hits from Suarez (single) and Phillip Ervin (triple). Scooter Gennett capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly. The 5-run inning made it 9-0.
