As expected, the Reds placed right-hander Scott Feldman on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday. Feldman left Monday’s 6-1 loss to the Nationals after just one inning with a right knee inflammation.
The team recalled Tuesday’s starter, right-hander Sal Romano, as well as right-handed reliever Lisalverto Bonilla from Triple-A. To make room, the team also optioned outfielder Jesse Winker to Louisville.
Feldman, 34, was the team’s Opening Day starter and the last of the five Reds starters in the rotation at the beginning of the season to hit the disabled list this season. None of the five pitchers to start the season in the rotation are currently in the team’s rotation due to either injuries or ineffectiveness.
