PITTSBURGH -- The Reds on Wednesday placed right-hander Rookie Davis on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right forearm after the rookie was struck by a Jameson Taillon pitch while attempting to bunt in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Pirates at PNC Park.
Davis was replaced on the roster by right-hander Barrett Astin, who was recalled from Triple-A Louisville.
In his second Major League start, Davis pitched four innings, yielding two hits and one earned run before leaving the game. He struck out three and walked four.
