Since Cincinnati Reds outfielder Aristides Aquino got a second chance on the Reds roster in 2022, the Reds had multiple chances where they needed to create a spot on the 40-man roster and could have designated Aquino for assignment a second time.
On April 30, the Reds designated Aquino for assignment and put him on waivers when he was hitting .049 on the season. The Reds added him back to the roster on May 20 when they needed depth in the outfield. Between May 20 and June 12, Aquino was hitting .283 with a .798 OPS in 46 at-bats.
