In Tyler Mahle’s most recent start for the Cincinnati Reds, he had a no-hitter going through the fourth inning on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants. Then in the fifth, after allowing a bloop single, Mahle had to pitch out of the stretch.
Mahle allowed two more hits and one run over the remainder of the inning, and he didn’t come back out for the sixth. Looking back at the start, Mahle said he thought that he started tipping his pitches when he threw out of the stretch.
“I was tipping from where my glove was on my body and how my hand was coming up out of the stretch,” Mahle said.
