TORONTO –– On Saturday, the Cincinnati Reds coaching staff received unfortunate injury updates from two starting pitchers.
Connor Overton reported back stiffness, and as a result, he wasn’t able to start for the Reds on Sunday. Mike Minor had made a rehab start in Triple-A, and the team was hoping that his next start would be in the Reds rotation. Minor said he felt like he needed another rehab start before joining the Reds rotation.
So for the next week, the depth in the Reds rotation will be tested as much as it has all season.
