GOODYEAR, Ariz. – On March 18, Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Mike Minor threw one inning of a simulated game against live hitters. Afterward, he felt soreness in his shoulder, which caused him to take a step back in his preparation for the season.
Thirteen days later, Minor was back to square one. On Thursday, Minor threw his second simulated game of the spring. Minor will miss the start of the season, and he doesn’t have a specific timeline for when he could return in April.
“I’m at the very beginning,” Minor said. “Usually in spring training you throw two lives and get in a game.
