We have known since Sunday that the Cincinnati Reds won the waiver claim for Amed Rosario, plucking him off the loaded roster of the Los Angeles Dodgers amid their roster crunch. With the Reds across the border in Toronto to face the Blue Jays, however, it seems like the power of MLB paperwork needed a bit of extra time to get Julian Aguiar on the roster and to last night’s game, and perhaps the same was true with Rosario.
Anyway, he’s officially a Red as of Tuesday afternoon. Problem is, he needed a roster spot to make that become a reality, and the Reds placed big free agent signee and noted veteran presence Jeimer Candelario on the 10-day IL to free up room.
