Matt Harvey continued his string of not truly pitching ‘deep’ into games, but he was once again effective on the mound - and, once again, was still doing so for the Cincinnati Reds after not being moved to the Milwaukee Brewers earlier in the day despite a previous waiver claim.
Harvey was chased after getting an out into the Bottom of the 6th, but finished with 5.1 innings of 1 ER ball, scattering 5 hits and a walk while fanning 6 in his 83 pitch outing. Spectacular? No. Solid? Yes, and the kind of outing that makes you think there’s a chance he can still be a mid-rotation starter for a team going forward.
