The day after Hall of Fame ballots were sent to voters, Reds legend Joe Morgan sent an email, via the Baseball Hall of Fame, to voters asking them not to vote for suspected steroid users.
Morgan was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990 and sits on the board of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Here is the email as received by The Enquirer’s C. Trent Rosecrans, a Hall of Fame voter since 2015:
Dear C. Trent:
Over the years, I have been approached by many Hall of Fame members telling me we needed to do something to speak out about the possibility of steroid users entering the Hall of Fame.
