Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Chris Sabo is the new head baseball coach of the Akron Zips, according to the university.
Sabo will be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday (Oct. 24) at 3 p.m., according to a release posted on gozips.com.
"We are excited to welcome Chris Sabo to the University of Akron," Director of Athletics Larry Williams said in the release. "His illustrious playing career demonstrates his mastery of the fine details of the game. He also has extraordinary leadership skills and the proven ability to teach, coach, and motivate young athletes.
