Reds' Drew Storen to have Tommy John surgery

Drew Storen’s 2017 season is over and he will likely miss 2018, as well. Storen will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

Storen, 30, will be a free agent at the end of this season and likely miss all of 2018. The rehab process for pitchers commonly lasts a year. The surgery will be performed by Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek.

“I'll try to get it done as soon as possible. There's a lot of different factors there,” Storen said on Sunday. “I’ll try to get it done in the next couple of weeks.
