Reds come up just short against Marlins

Wochit

As he stood in right field in the top of the ninth inning of Saturday’s 5-4 loss to the Marlins, Reds outfielder Patrick Kivlehan could envision what could have been.

To his left was where the liner he hit a half-inning before should have been bouncing around, allowing Scooter Gennett to score the go-ahead run and he would either be standing at second with a double or sliding into third with a triple, the hero of the game.

Instead, Marlins first baseman Justin Bour was able to snare his liner and easily step on first to double up Gennett and get out of the inning.
