The Reds are close to a deal to trade right-hander Dan Straily to the Marlins for three prospects, including right-hander Luis Castillo, The Enquirer has confirmed.
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports was the first to report the deal.
With the deal, the Reds will get Castillo, Miami’s No. 2 prospect according to Baseball American, right-hander Austin Brice and a third prospect, who has yet to be named.
Castillo, 24, was 8-6 with a 2.26 ERA between high-A and Double-A in 2016. The native of the Dominican Republic throws in the high-90s and his reached triple-digits. MLBPipeline.
