MILWAUKEE – As soon as the Cincinnati Reds announced Tyler Stephenson broke his clavicle on July 22, the first game after the All-Star break, there was a good possibility he’d miss the remainder of the 2022 season.
That fear was confirmed Friday.
Stephenson had surgery to stabilize the fracture in his right clavicle Thursday. The Reds already transferred him to the 60-day injured list, making him unable to return before Sept. 21, so there was only a two-week window where he could’ve returned.

“I don’t think so,” said Reds Manager David Bell when asked if Stephenson could return this year.
