The Cincinnati Reds (27-31) begin a four game series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs (31-26). The Reds are riding a four game winning streak, including a three game sweep of the Phillies at Great American Ballpark.
The Cubs come into today tied for second place in the NL Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and are 6.5 games behind the first place St. Louis Cardinals. The Cubs and Pirates are also tied for the second wild card spot, and have a 1.5 game lead on the next team (Mets). The Cubs beat the Tigers 12-3 yesterday, and their 12 runs scored was a season high.
