Reds reliever David Hernandez was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Friday after missing the start of the season with right shoulder inflammation. To make room for Hernandez on the active roster, utility man Phil Gosselin was optioned to Triple-A Louisville.
The 32-year-old right-hander was in the Reds' clubhouse Thursday ahead of his activation. He made three Minor League rehab appearances for Louisville and allowed five earned runs in 2 1/3 innings of work.
