Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene refused to let nerves get the best of him during his first inning of work in his Major League Baseball debut, getting a ground out from the Atlanta Braves' Eddie Rosario before striking out Matt Olson and Austin Riley - both swinging.
Greene threw 13 pitches - nine of them strikes - in the 1st. He increased his strikeout total in the 2nd by striking out former Red Adam Duvall in addition to Alex Dickerson.
Greene added strikeouts in the third inning of Dansby Swanson (looking) and Rosario (swinging). Greene struck out Swanson again in the fifth inning - his seventh K of the game.
