National Baseball Hall of Famer Tom Seaver, who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds from 1977 to 1982, died in his sleep from complications of Lewy body dementia and COVID-19. He was 75.
"We are heartbroken to share that our beloved husband and father has passed away. We send our love out to his fans, as we mourn his loss with you," Seaver's family said Wednesday.
Seaver was 75-46 with a 3.18 ERA in six seasons for the Reds after 12 seasons with the New York Mets. He was traded by the Mets to the Reds for Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson, Dan Norman and Pat Zachry in 1977.
