Former Cincinnati Reds fan favorite Brandon Phillips turns 37 years old on Thursday. And multiple reports via Twitter indicate that Phillips will play third base for the Red Sox at Triple-A Pawtucket after Boston signed him to a minor-league deal on Wednesday.
Phillips played 11 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds - winning four Gold Gloves and making the All-Star team three times - before the team traded him to the Atlanta Braves in February of 2017.
In August of last year, Phillips recorded his 2,000th career hit - with his mom on hand in Philadelphia.
