Anthony DeSclafani picked a good time to hit his first career home run.
DeSclafani lined a full-count grand slam into the left-field seats, giving the Reds a seven-run lead in the third inning against the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park.
His teammates were too excited to give him the silent treatment.
It was the fourth grand slam from a pitcher in Reds history, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Bob Purkey was the last pitcher to accomplish the feat, hitting a grand slam on Aug. 1, 1956, which was also against the Cubs.
DeSclafani became the first Reds pitcher to record four RBI in a game since Bronson Arroyo did it on June 3, 2006.
